Backrub Collective is led by AJ, a licensed massage therapist specialising in massages for people who need real results — not just relaxation. AJ combines deep tissue, Swedish, and Thai massage techniques into a method tailored to each client's body and what it needs that day.
Every session starts with a short conversation. What's going on? Where are you holding tension? What do you need ? From there, AJ works specifically and purposefully — adjusting pressure, pace, and focus throughout.
Clients come from across Berlin Mitte and beyond: office workers with chronic desk tension, people recovering from sport, creatives burning the candle at both ends, and regulars who have simply made monthly bodywork part of how they function.
Firm and Focused

The Firm and Focused session is built around deep tissue technique — sustained, specific pressure that gets into the layers of muscle where tension accumulates. If you carry stress in your shoulders, wake up stiff, or have a knot that hasn't shifted in weeks, this is the session for you.
AJ works methodically, addressing the areas that need it most. The pressure is firm but always intelligent — responsive to your body, never mechanical. Most clients notice a real difference within 24 hours.

Mindful Moment
A slow, calming massage to help you fully switch off.
Best for: stress and anxiety, mental exhaustion, burnout, sleep support, nervous system reset.
The Mindful Moment session is less about fixing a specific problem and more about giving your system a genuine break. Using flowing Swedish massage strokes and deliberate, unhurried rhythm, this session is designed to bring your nervous system down from wherever it's been running.
It works particularly well for people who are mentally overloaded — carrying too much, sleeping poorly, struggling to be present. An hour in which your body is given complete permission to stop bracing.

The Backsession
A targeted massage for the part of the body that holds the most. Best for: back pain, shoulder and neck tension, poor posture, muscle tightness, post-workout recovery.
The Back Session focuses entirely on the back — from the base of the spine to the shoulders and neck. Using a blend of deep tissue, Swedish, and Thai massage techniques, it works into the areas that build up tension over time and rarely get proper attention.
It works particularly well for people who spend long hours sitting, carry physical load in their work, or have learned to live with discomfort they've stopped noticing. A massage in which your back finally gets what it's been asking for.
