Backrub Collective is part of a working wellness and beauty collective in the heart of Berlin Mitte, at Torstraße 138, 10119 Berlin — a short walk from Rosenthaler Platz (U8, M1, M8 trams).

The space is home to a group of independent practitioners: barbers, beauty specialists, and wellness professionals, all working at a high level under one roof. It's an energetic, professional environment — the kind of place where skilled people come to do focused work, and clients come to be genuinely looked after.

Within the collective, Backrub Collective operates as its own private space. Once you step into AJ's room, the outside world — and the buzz of the studio floor — stays behind. It's calm, contained, and built entirely around your session.

The Method
AJ's approach draws on two core techniques, used together:

Deep Tissue Massage applies slow, deliberate pressure into the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It's effective for chronic tightness, stubborn knots, and tension that has built up over time. The pressure is firm and purposeful — always calibrated to what your body can receive, never forced.

Swedish Massage uses long, flowing strokes to ease the nervous system, improve circulation, and encourage the body to genuinely let go. It's the foundation of most sessions — warming the tissue, slowing the breath, and creating the conditions for deeper work where it's needed.
In practice, most sessions blend both. AJ reads the body as the session unfolds and adjusts accordingly. The goal is always the same: that you leave feeling different from when you arrived.
